Training Tracking

Track training completion and ensure trained staff are scheduled appropriately.

Why Track Training?

Training tracking helps ensure employees have the skills needed for their scheduled tasks. Unlike certifications (which are typically external), training tracks internal skill development.

Skills-based scheduling

Only schedule trained staff

Onboarding tracking

Monitor new hire progress

Cross-training visibility

See who can cover what

Refresher reminders

Track when retraining is due

Setting Up Training Programs

1

Define Training Types

Go to Settings → Training and create training programs your team needs.

2

Configure Each Training

Set up details:

  • • Name and description
  • • Required for which positions
  • • Refresher interval (if applicable)
  • • Prerequisites (other training required first)
3

Link to Tasks/Shifts

Associate training with specific shift types or tasks that require it.

Example Training Types

Recording Training Completion

Manager Entry

Go to employee profile → Training tab → Mark training as complete with completion date.

Bulk Update

After a group training session, mark multiple employees complete at once from Team → Training → Bulk Update.

Self-Service

Employees can mark certain training types complete (requires manager approval if configured).

LMS Integration

If you use a Learning Management System, training completion can sync automatically.

Training in Scheduling

Training status affects scheduling in several ways:

Available for Assignment

Trained employees appear as available for shifts requiring that training.

Training In Progress

Partially trained employees can be scheduled with a trained buddy.

Not Trained

Untrained employees don't appear as available (or show a warning if enforcement is set to warn).

Onboarding Checklists

Create onboarding programs that combine multiple training items:

  1. 1.Go to Settings → Training → Onboarding Programs
  2. 2.Create a program (e.g., "New Hire - Cashier")
  3. 3.Add required training items in order
  4. 4.Set target completion timeframe
  5. 5.Assign to new employees when they join

Managers can track onboarding progress from the dashboard.
